Haydon Wick

Haydon Wick Ward Update – Oct 2023

Community Engagement

It has been a few busy months since I got elected in May. While I have been prioritising helping residents with specific issues, I have also focused on engaging with local community groups. I volunteered at the Haydon Wick Summer Spectacular which was a fantastic event. I attended the Seven Fields Park Run to celebrate the 75 th anniversary of NHS to show support for the amazing work that our NHS staff do every day. I also engaged with the Seven Fields Conservation Group, where we discussed the successful hay cutting and collection which was arranged by Swindon Borough Council.

Road Safety

I continue pushing Swindon Borough Council to address the on-going speeding and traffic issues on Thames Avenue. Road safety of residents is paramount, and I will continue pressing this matter until action is taken on this busy road. I am also supporting the implementation of the School Safe Environment Scheme for Catherine Wayte Primary School. The primary purpose of this scheme is to deliver road safety, including behavioural changes that can help with parking issues.

Cllr Surgeries

I continue holding monthly Cllr surgeries with my Cllr colleague Rajhia Ali who represents Priory Vale ward. The meetings take place every third Saturday of a month, 10:00am – 11:00am at the Better Haydon Centre and Gym which is located on Thames Avenue.

Best Wishes,
